BELFAST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Belfast International Airport is located approximately 32 km (20 miles) from Belfast City Centre along the M2 motorway.Getting to the city by bus - Airport Express 300. This service operates 7 days a week and runs every 15 minutes at peak times on Monday to Friday, with reduced frequency Saturday and Sunday. The bus also runs hourly throughout the night. Be sure to check out updated timetables and fares out front of your terminal building The journey takes approximately 30 - 40 minutes.
GEORGE BEST BELFAST CITY AIRPORT
The George Best Belfast City Airport is only a short trip outside of the city centre, just under 9 km (5.5 miles) to the Europa Bus Station along the A2 Sydenham bypass.Airport Express 600 This services operates 7 days a week and runs every 30 minutes at peak times with reduced service on Sundays. Be sure to check out updated timetables and fares out front of your terminal building.
Airport taxis tend to charge more, always discuss your fare before taking a taxi. Average prices from Belfast International Airport £30 to city centre and £8-10 from George Best Belfast City Airport. From Dublin approximately £130 - 150. Uber also operates in Belfast where you will receive a fare estimate upfront and they do pick up from both airports and hotels.
No time difference
Northern Ireland's border with the Republic of Ireland runs 360 kms (223miles) long and crossing the border is easy. If driving, in both countries we drive on the left hand side of the road but the speed limit changes from kph in the Republic of Ireland to mph in Northern Ireland, so be sure to watch out for sign changes.
In Northern Ireland the currency is Sterling or pounds, the same currency used around the United Kingdom. However, you may notice that there will be a different style of notes depending on the bank they come from. For example, you may get a Bank of Scotland or Bank of England note but you can use them in Northern Ireland. But if you bring a Danske Bank or Ulster Bank note to England, some places may not accept it. You can change those notes over at any post office in the city.
Belfast has been voted one of the safety cities in the United Kingdom. If you do feel unsafe, the emergency telephone number is 999 or 112 from your mobile, you will also see police officers walking around the city centre.
The legal drinking age in Belfast is 18 years old, and like most places around the world, smoking is prohibited in buildings and public places including bars and restaurants.
