Giants Causeway Tour + City Tour Shore Excursion

Start your tour up the North Antrim Coast directly off your ship in Belfast port. Our first stop on the tour brings you to Carrickfergus Castle on the Northern shore of Belfast Lough, you may have even seen the castle while your ship was docking!

Carrickfergus was built in 1177 by John de Courcy as his headquarters after he conquered Eastern Ulster that same year. He ruled as a petty king for 27 years until he was dethroned by another Norman, High de Lacy in 1204.Next, we continue our journey up the Causeway Coastal Route, driving through the Glens of Antrim bringing us to Ballycastle where we will stop for lunch, then we make our way to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge where you can walk 100ft above water over to a small fisherman's island. Crossing the bridge is optional if you decide you don't want to cross you can always watch other people or enjoy coastal walks at this National Trust site.

After the rope bridge, we have a short drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Giant's Causeway. Your guide will teach you the legend behind the Causeway, that it was built by two bickering Giant's one from Ireland and one from Scotland. You'll also learn the more scientific reason the causeway exists, but everyone knows it was Giants.

With time permitting, we also have a bonus location that we will stop at before making our way back into Belfast.Once we return to Belfast for a city tour, your guide will bring you through areas that were once full of strife during The Troubles, you'll get to see various murals throughout the city including the International Wall of Murals and the Belfast Peace Wall. This tour allows you to see some of the very best that Northern Ireland has to offer during your quick stop in Belfast, it is designed to squeeze in as much as possible and we guarantee to have you back well in time before the final boarding is called.
